United Airlines profits are down. Oil is up. Delta’s schedule is reduced.
What this spells is a bad summer for the flying public. The CEO of Delta has told news agencies he expects airlines to raise fares 15 to 20 percent just to break even.
Planes will be fuller and fares more expensive this summer. Hardest hit will be fares to smaller cities. Airlines have less competition to these lesser flown routes and have a greater capacity to raise fares and still sell the tickets.
What this all means for group travel is clear. Buy now! Fares over the summer will keep going up from now till the foreseeable future. The best way to beat the price increase is buying now. Saving the expected 20% fare increase by buying now is very significant for group travel when many tickets are involved.
So if you’re putting off planning your group trip, don’t any longer. You’re wallet will not be pleased if you do.

Here in Asia, Cambodia & Thailand everything is going up fast, something’s over 30% to 50%. When they raise the prices they are anticipating future costs and adding it in.
Now is the best time to travel. There are still lots of good deals out there even on flights but especially on hotels, as many have not adjusted prices yet and you get the benefit that travel is slowing!
